Memorial Weekend 2008

Memorial Weekend 2008 was spent in Jackson visiting Jim and Deborah. We went to see the Diamond Jaxx (AA Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners) play after church on Sunday. It was Fan Appreciation Day and admission was free! But as you will see from the pics - there was hardly anyone there! I am sure it was because it was a holiday weekend...and most people were on the river/lakes. After the game, kids were allowed to run the bases like the pros. The boys enjoyed that! It was a very hot day but we managed. Some of us did walk away with some good sunburns. Ouch! Monday we had an old fashioned Collinsworth fish fry. Some of the best cooking you can get! Note - not to forget the breakfast dad cooked for us both mornings! How can you not love biscuits and sausage gravy made with love! Later that day we went to the cemetery where some of our Collinsworth ancestors are buried.

A Job Well Done!

We are so proud of you Ty! We have gone from striking out to hitting the ball at every bat! Too bad the season ends this Saturday! "Miss Katie and her booooyyyfriend" as Ty puts it :) - were able to come to his last game. Chris and I are so blessed to have her. It is so comforting when you can leave your children with someone you know has only their best interest at heart. She has such a kind and giving heart and there is no question that she loves our boys. We just pray that she knows how much we love her too!

A Sunny Day!

Wow! What beautiful weather! It was nice to have a warm, sunny day for a change. The boys spent the afternoon playing outside with the "cul-de-sac kids". It was even warm enough for them to play in the water. This eventually led into all the kids playing in the sprinkler. It has been nice having other kids for the boys to play with. I hope the same is true again when we move.

Quotes by Christopher - The Birds and the Bees

Picked up Christopher from school today - this is the conversation we had just as soon as he got in the car!
ME - Christopher, how was school today?
Christopher - Good. The 5th grade girls had "the talk" today by "some" people.
ME - What did they tell them? (Of course, I knew!)
Christopher - I don't know. They said they couldn't talk about it. Why didn't they talk to the boys too?
ME - Trust me Christopher, they will.
Christopher - What are they going to talk about?
.....Now the crickets are chirping and I am sitting there trying to figure out what to say! :)

Braden spends the day with Aunt Kelly

Maybe my sister shouldn't trust me with her child???

A New Addition

Welcome Braden! He was placed in Kristi's home recently. What a sweet baby he is! He just loves to smile and laugh! I have a picture of him and Christopher playing Peek-a-boo over the couch. It was so funny to watch! Braden would just laugh and laugh! We don't know how long Kristi will have him....but we sure would love for it to be on a permanent basis. :)

Christopher's School Program

Tonight was Christopher's Spring School Program. I can't believe we are going to have a 6th grader next year. We went to eat before the program at El Chico's then met Katie, our sitter, at the school. I thought it was so sweet that she came and you could tell it meant a lot to Christopher too. After the program, we went to the Sigma Chi house to say good-bye to Damion. He is moving to California tomorrow. Damion is like family to us and he is going to be missed.

Ty Baseball 2008

Ty had another double header this weekend. We lost the first game but won by a landslide in the second. Ty hit the ball much better this weekend. He even got an RBI! Four games left in the season..... :)

Spending the Day Outside

It was such a beautiful day today! We thought we would take advantage of the sun and spend some time outside after church. Miley had fun chasing the boys on their bikes. And Dad had "fun" trying to teach Ty to ride his bike without training wheels. This is still a work in progress.

"How do they do that?"
~ This said in the car today while we were waiting to pick up Christopher. As you can see - it's always an interesting day with Ty
