The Hartings

Chris' sister and her family are living in China. I took some of their pictures from their blog page and put them on ours. We think of them often and miss them terribly. Thankfully technology allows us to keep in touch thru blog pages and web cameras. Hopefully one day we will have the means to send Chris over to China for a visit. I know he misses his sister and would love to have a chance to see her in person. In the meantime -

Cara and Joel - we miss you and think of you daily. We are so glad to see that you are doing well. Thank you for allowing us the chance to follow the many adventures and challenges you face. Hug and kiss the kids for us and let them know that Uncle Chris, Aunt Kelly, Christopher, and Ty can't wait to see them again!

Isaac
It appears Isaac is doing very well there. He has started preschool. I can't believe you are already old enough to be going to school! What a big boy you are Isaac!

Autumn

Cara must have finally received her boxes with American spices in it. This is a picture of Autumn after eating spaghetti. She is now learning to feed herself. Too cute for words!

Off to a "Rockie" Start

Ty has started his 2008 Baseball season. We have lost our first two games but you can already see the improvement and potential in this team. He is playing for the Colorado Rockies this season. And it is also Ty's first season on the pitching machine. So far, we aren't doing too bad. Uncle Joel, you would be proud! I am sure with continued practice he will only get better. Granny, Kristi, Anastacia, and Brad were able to come to the game today. It was probably a good thing PaPa wasn't there today. One time Ty was at bat and the umpire sent the ball when he wasn't even ready! So we got an automatic strike - even though he wasn't looking towards the pitching machine because the Coach was still giving him direction. But don't worry PaPa - we didn't let you down. Dear ole mom let the umpire know about it. Nothing embarrassing - but let's just say the old cheerleading voice came in handy. :) Then on another occasion the umpire called one of our players out when it was plainly obvious the guy no where near tagged our player out! But Granny took care of that by saying the umpire needed to get some glasses!

Being a kid again!

Christopher had a friend's birthday party to attend today. It was at the local roller skating place. I thought I would attempt skating again so that Ty could feel included. Surprisingly, I didn't do too bad. I didn't fall once. Although I was reminded at times that I am not young anymore. Many times I felt very overwhelmed by all the people skating around me and there were even a few times I found myself telling some strange child to "watch out" or "turn around - you are going the wrong way". But I have to believe this was really just the mom in me not wanting my kids to be hurt. Yep that's it - just being protective.....not being old! At least that is what I am going to tell myself.

Memphis Zoo

We were able to go the Memphis Zoo this weekend
with Granny, Aunt Kristi, and Anastacia. It turned
out to be a beautiful day! The kids had a great
time and the adults survived the day! :)
We went to Shoguns after our big day...
filled our bellies and went back home to Jonesboro.

Surprise visit to Papaw Jim's

We were able to surprise Papaw Jim with a visit last weekend! It was time well spent....even though we were only there Saturday night and Sunday. We went to church with Jim and Deborah on Sunday - then went to Gander Mountain to look around. From the pictures - you can see what the boys wanted to buy!

Union University - Jackson, TN

These are pictures of Union University - Jackson, TN. Chris' dad lives only minutes from there. Fortunately their house was not affected by the tornado. I wish I had pictures of the trees down from his house. The tops of the trees were missing. They looked like snapped toothpicks.
